Can we meet the teachers?

Our directors and administrators are always available for each and every parent. If you desire a conference with your child’s teacher, just notify our director. Daycare dinners, musical programs and by volunteering are other ways to meet the teachers.

Can we see the building?

We will be happy to arrange a guided tour of the facility. The only time we prefer you not come is during lunch and nap time which is from 11:30 to 3:00.

Does Bobbie Noonan’s Child Care have a security system?

All of our schools have coded entry systems, which are updated on a regular basis.

What if my child is sick or gets sick during the day?

Parents will be called to pick up their child, in a timely manner. Please refer to the parent handbook and the isolation and exclusion guidelines for specific illnesses.

Do I still have to pay tuition if my child is absent?

Yes. Because DCFS requires us to maintain our student/staff ratios, we plan our staff’s work schedule based on the days your child is scheduled to attend. Our school expenses continue when one or several children are absent. This policy is standard at most licensed daycare centers.

What about scheduled vacations?

Children who attend twelve consecutive months for daycare may take one week vacation, without paying tuition, after the child has attended one full year. Vacation time does not carry over into the next year. Children that attend preschool only are not eligible for vacation time.

Is there a minimum number of days my child can attend?

We require a two day a week minimum for our students. We have found that children adjust better to the school environment if they are in attendance at least two days.

Do you practice fire and tornado drills?

We have fire drills once a month and tornado drills twice a year. This is in accordance to DCFS standards.

Are you closed for the holidays?

Yes, we are closed for the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. All Illinois schools are closed on Columbus Day.

What is the drop off/pick up procedure like?

The procedure for drop off and pick up of daycare children is as follows: Parents are expected to bring their children into the center, see that they are placed with the supervising teacher and sign the sign-in sheet before leaving. At pick up, please be sure to sign your child out. If someone other than yourself is to pick up your child, please notify the school in writing who that person will be. The person picking up your child will be required to show a picture ID and sign their name on the sign out sheet. Preschool children will get in our car lane and a teacher will come out to the car, have you sign in and bring your child into the building. The same will happen at pick up time.

How do we know if the center needs to close for some reason?

Bobbie Noonan’s Child Care works in connection with WGN (AM 720, Channel 9) and the Emergency Closing Center. This is accessible via the Internet and by telephone.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

What provisions will be made for food allergies?

All of the food we serve is additive, preservative and sugar free as possible. If your child has a specific food allergy we will be glad to serve a substitute item that meets our food guidelines.
